Slim Pictures is a boutique commercial production company. We keep things lithe.
We combine our directors’ strengths with resourcefulness to produce compelling stories for our clients.
We create content that opens up our world and inspires audiences everywhere.
We ride our bikes to Abbot Kinney Blvd in Venice to get ice cream.
Owner/EP Tom Weissferdt established Slim in 2010 and continues to collaborate with ingenious talent from across the globe.
ZCDC (Zackary Canepari and Drea Cooper) are idea people and true filmmakers who curate, write, direct, shoot and edit documentaries, shorts, tv commercials and VR experiences.
Their heart is in telling powerful stories about real people and events. They are experts at blending realism with the cinematic. ZCDC create the most stunning imagery through their intimate and striking camera moves underscored by an emotional rhythm and authenticity that runs through all of their work.
Their award-winning short film series “California is a place” put them on the map, garnered over 10 million views online and screened at festivals around the world including Sundance. Shortly after, their feature length documentary “T-Rex” about Olympic gold medalist boxer, Claressa Shields premiered at SXSW and went on to win audience and jury awards around the country including San Francisco International, Hot Docs, and Traverse City.
They ventured into directing commercials after signing with Slim Pictures and went on to direct spots for the likes of Apple, Toyota, Intel, adidas, K-Swiss, Ray-Ban, John Deere and Chevrolet. Their Superbowl spot for Chevrolet and Goodby went on to win a Cannes Lion.
Before they began working together, Drea directed and shot documentary projects in India, Kosovo, and Colombia while Zack was based in the Indian Subcontinent working as a photojournalist for the New York Times, Time Magazine, The Wall Street Journal and Newsweek.
Apart, they remain Zack and Drea. Together, they have become ZCDC.
